Citrine Oriental is a global destination for belly dancers looking to immerse in the wildly beautiful art of the orient.
Hunting down fantastic beats, mesmerizing performances and the latest events around the world is my passion. I hope to provide a bit of magic to your week with folkloric stories, expert interviews, tips, tricks, and more.
Originally from Southern California, I’m a curious soul, passionate about dance, culture, and art.
As a former artistic gymnast, I have a deep understanding of movement, anatomy, wellness, and fitness. I was also trained in classical ballet for many years to complement my gymnastics training. Many years of training led to becoming a member of the U.S. National Gymnastics team in 2003, and the UCLA gymnastics team from 2006 – 2008.
After my gymnastics career, I traveled the world and dabbled in many types of dance, including jazz, hip-hop, salsa, and contemporary. Although I enjoyed exploring different types of dance, I wasn’t hooked until I found belly dance. I love how belly dance is deeply connected to a rich cultural heritage, and consists of a movement vocabulary so complex and varied that it could take a lifetime to master.
When I’m not shimmying, I love to write, create digital illustrations, and make pretty things.
